Take a break from overly sweet treats and enjoy this simple strawberry banana smoothie. It’s creamy, naturally fruity, and ready in minutes with only three ingredients.
During strawberry season I’ve been baking and making desserts, and this smoothie is my favorite way to use up extra berries. It’s a classic combination that never disappoints, and it’s effortless to prepare.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie Recipe
This smoothie uses just three core ingredients:
- strawberries
- banana
- milk
You can use fresh or frozen strawberries. For milk, choose what you prefer—dairy or non-dairy options like almond milk work well. Put everything into a blender and blend until smooth.
If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, add one tablespoon of honey or another sweetener to taste. Many people find the fruit provides enough sweetness on its own.
To save time, prepare smoothie freezer packs. Hull and chop the strawberries and slice the banana, then store the fruit in a freezer bag. In the morning, simply add the frozen fruit and milk to the blender for a smooth, cold drink.
For extra protein, stir in a scoop of vanilla protein powder when blending. If using freezer packs, add the powder along with the milk.
Depending on portion size, this recipe makes two small smoothies or one large smoothie similar to what you’d get at a smoothie shop.
This strawberry banana smoothie is an easy, satisfying way to enjoy summer fruit beyond desserts.
For more strawberry breakfast ideas, try strawberry muffins, pancakes, or berry muffins. If you enjoy smoothies, you might also like blends featuring blueberry, peach, or peanut butter and jelly flavors.
