This recipe is quick and forgiving—ready in minutes and easy to customize. Use the chocolate you enjoy most (milk, semi-sweet, dark or white) and don’t be shy with the pretzels and Reese’s Pieces; the quantities are flexible. The orange and yellow candies make the bark especially fun for Halloween, but the flavor works any time you want a simple, crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups chocolate chips (milk, semi-sweet, dark or white)
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter chips
  • 1/4 teaspoon oil
  • 1/2 cup Reese’s Pieces
  • Handful (or more) of pretzels

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30–45 second bursts, stirring between each, or melt in a double boiler. Pour the melted chocolate onto the prepared sheet and spread with a flat-edge tool to an even layer about 1/4 inch thick.
  3. In a small bowl, melt the peanut butter chips with the oil in 30–45 second bursts, stirring until smooth, or use a double boiler. Transfer the melted peanut butter chips to a small piping bag or a zip-top bag with the corner snipped off, then pipe over the chocolate layer.
  4. Immediately scatter Reese’s Pieces and pretzels over the top, pressing gently so they stick.
  5. Allow the bark to harden at room temperature. Once set, break or cut into pieces and enjoy.
