Peanut Butter Cookie Pizza Recipe: How to Make a Decadent Dessert Pizza

This Peanut Butter Cookie Pizza starts with one large, soft peanut butter cookie baked on a pizza pan. It’s finished with a fluffy peanut butter frosting and piled high with your favorite peanut butter candies — a simple, over-the-top dessert perfect for peanut butter lovers. Fair warning: this cookie pizza is for serious peanut butter fans only. If chewy peanut butter cookies, peanut butter cups, and Reese’s Pieces aren’t your thing, skip this one. But if peanut butter and chocolate are your go-to flavors, this will feel like dessert heaven.

The base is one giant, soft and chewy peanut butter cookie. I prefer brown sugar for a deeper flavor and chewier texture. An extra egg yolk and a touch of cornstarch keep the cookie tender. Roll the dough into a circle on a parchment-lined pizza pan — leave about 1/2 to 1 inch around the edge because the cookie will spread in the oven.

Once the cookie crust is baked and cooled, spread on a creamy peanut butter frosting. It’s not overly sweet — just light, fluffy, and wonderfully peanutty. Then top with any combination of candies and mix-ins you love. Some popular choices:

  • Peanut butter cups
  • Reese’s Pieces
  • Chocolate chips
  • Peanuts
  • Peanut butter chips
  • Butterfinger pieces

The variations are endless. For the photos I used chopped mini Reese’s peanut butter cups, mini Reese’s Pieces, and mini chocolate chips. You can also drizzle melted chocolate or peanut butter chips over the top for extra flair.

This cookie pizza is fast, fuss-free, and one of the easiest showstopper desserts you can make — a great alternative to a birthday cake for anyone who loves peanut butter cups.

Ingredients

Peanut Butter Cookie

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter (not natural)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Peanut Butter Topping

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (not natural)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tbsp milk or cream
  • Peanut butter candies of your choice for decorating

Instructions

Make the Peanut Butter Cookie

  • In a large bowl, beat together the butter, peanut butter, and brown sugar with an electric mixer until smooth.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla until combined.
  • On low speed, gradually beat in the flour, cornstarch, and baking soda until just combined.
  • Form the dough into a large ball, wrap it in cling film, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes (or up to 24 hours).
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 12-inch round pizza pan with parchment paper.
  • With lightly floured hands, press the chilled dough into a round on the prepared pan, leaving about 1/2–1 inch around the edge for spreading.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the top looks set. Allow the cookie to cool completely before frosting.

Make the Frosting and Decorate

  • In a medium bowl, beat the butter and peanut butter until smooth.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar and then the milk or cream, one tablespoon at a time, beating until you reach a fluffy, spreadable consistency.
  • Spread the frosting over the cooled cookie. Top with your choice of peanut butter candies and optional drizzles of melted chocolate or peanut butter chips.
