Super healthy, 4-ingredient Berry Pomegranate Smoothie. Made with Greek yogurt & banana — a delicious, immunity-boosting breakfast.
Lately I’ve been scrolling through everyone’s gym updates on Instagram, feeling proud of friends’ progress while also admitting I’ve spent too much time in sweatpants enjoying treats. The few holiday pounds I gained have lingered through January and into March.
Maybe the snow will take care of it — or more realistically, I should cut back on sugar, carbs, wine, beer, chips and pizza.
Time for a healthier choice: Berry Pomegranate Smoothie.
This drink is thick, creamy, packed with antioxidants and genuinely tasty. With juicy berries and pomegranate, it’s a great pick-me-up when you want to support your immune system. (You don’t want to be sidelined by a cold when you’re trying to get back to the gym.)
I use a triple-berry mix — raspberries, blueberries and blackberries — for a deep purple hue and natural sweetness. A banana adds creaminess and potassium to help with post-workout cramps. Greek yogurt contributes protein and makes the texture silky. Pomegranate juice ties everything together; a little goes a long way and lends a bright, tart finish. Making smoothies at home is also more budget-friendly than visiting juice bars.
Enjoy this smoothie as a simple, nutritious breakfast or post-workout snack. Small steps count: sip the smoothie, celebrate progress, and maybe one day swap sweatpants for gym shorts and hit the stair climber.
For now, the Berry Pomegranate Smoothie will do. Baby steps.
