For Christmas, I wanted to give my chocolate covered peanut butter eggs recipe a fun makeover as chocolate covered peanut butter Christmas trees! A few months ago, one of my cousins asked me to make them in a different shape, so I found a good silicone Christmas tree mold online and got to work!

how are these different from Reese's chocolate covered peanut butter Christmas trees?
For starters, my chocolate covered peanut butter trees are better. Okay, okay, I'm kidding.
Kind of.
These trees are different because the filling is a mix of butter, confectioners sugar, peanut butter, and marshmallow fluff.
To me, that makes a lighter, fluffier, peanut buttery version that's simply irresistible! It's really hard to eat just one!
what kind of silicone mold can I use for the trees?
Any mold you like will work! You don't even need a tree mold, but make sure it's silicone. Silicone is much easier to work with when you're popping the frozen peanut butter shapes out.
There are plenty to choose from, but this is the silicone Christmas tree mold I bought on Amazon.
Looking back, I should have bought two of them, but since I'll probably use this one often, one is enough.

what can I do with the leftover melted chocolate?
You'll probably have extra chocolate after dipping the trees, so a fun idea is to dip any hard pretzels you have in the house.
You can also dip other treats like Oreos, almonds, chips, or anything else you want to try!

Chocolate-Dipped Peanut Butter Christmas Trees
A simple, fun twist on my Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Eggs recipe! It's very easy to make and a great Christmas treat for anyone who loves chocolate and peanut butter!
- Prep

- Chill Time

Ingredients
peanut butter Christmas trees
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup Peanut Butter, creamy
- 1/2 cup Marshmallow Fluff
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar
chocolate
- 12 oz Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, or milk chocolate chips
- 1/2 square of Paraffin Wax, or 2 tbsp of either coconut oil or vegetable oil
Method
- Line a small baking sheet or container with wax paper.
- With a hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment on medium-high speed, beat together the butter, peanut butter, and marshmallow fluff until fully combined. Scrape down the bowl as needed.
- Switch to low speed and slowly add the powdered sugar. Mix until the peanut butter filling forms; it should be soft, creamy, and a little sticky.
- Scoop out a few spoonfuls and fill each tree cavity with the peanut butter mixture, filling it almost to the top.
- Freeze the peanut butter trees until firm enough to dip, about 1 hour, though overnight is my preference.
- Set up a double boiler with about 1″-1.5″ of water in the bottom pot. Melt the wax over low heat, uncovered, then add the bag of chocolate chips and stir constantly until melted.
- Using 2 forks, dip each tree into the melted chocolate, then set it back on the wax paper. Repeat until all the trees are done.
- Once the chocolate has hardened, trim any excess from the bottom (optional).
- Store the chocolate covered peanut butter trees in the fridge, or freeze them in a container for up to a month.
